NOTICE: Christmas Tree Pick-up Rescheduled!

Attention residents of Middlebury and Vergennes!  Due to the extreme cold predicted for this Saturday, the Vergennes Lions Club and the Middlebury Rotary are pushing back the curbside Christmas tree pick-up until Saturday January 13th. Place your tree curbside the night before to ensure they are picked up on the morning of the 13th.  If at all possible, please keep your tree away from the curb until it is closer to the pick-up date.  This will help keep them from getting buried in snow or falling into the street.  Thank you to all the volunteers who will be picking up the trees!!

The Addison County Solid Waste Management District’s Merry Mulch Program allows you to give your tree a new life once the holidays are over. Through this program, trees are chipped and made into a fragrant mulch, which we give away to residents for free in the spring to use in their gardens and yards!

How to participate:

If you are a resident of Vergennes or Middlebury, trees will be picked up curbside free of charge by volunteers from the Vergennes Lions Club and the Middlebury Rotary Club. The pick-up will occur EARLY on Saturday, January 13  – make sure to put your tree out the night before to ensure you don’t miss the collection!

If you are a District resident in another town, you can bring your tree to the District Transfer Station (located at 1223 Rt. 7 S in Middlebury) anytime during our normal hours (M-F 7am-3pm, Sat. 8am-1pm) until the end of January to be recycled.

Trees only, please (no wreaths)!  You must remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel, garland, and wire from your tree.  This will ensure that the mulch we make is clean and free of contaminants.  Call us with any questions at 388-2333.
