New Rates for 2020

The ACSWMD Board of Supervisors adopted its 2020 Annual Budget, including the Rate Schedule for Calendar Year 2020. The following new fees and rates will take effect on Jan. 1, 2020:

The District Fee of $33.40/ton on all Municipal Solid Waste and Construction/Demo Debris destined for disposal will increase to $34/ton, the first increase since 1999.

The rate changes at the District Transfer Station in Middlebury are:

  • $128/ton for Municipal Solid Waste & Construction/Demo Debris
  • $120/ton for Single Stream Recycling from Commercial Haulers
  • Single Stream Recycling from Self-Hauled Businesses: $9 minimum per load of 1 cu.yd or less, or $120/ton for greater than 1 cu.yd 
  • Oil Filters from Businesses: $7 per 5-gallon pail; $70 per 55-gal drum
  • Film Plastic & Plastic Bags – Businesses (max. of 1 cu.yd/week) - $10/cu.yd; and Businesses (baled) - $50/bale
  • Green cone digesters - $135/each
  • A new program will begin in 2020 at the Transfer Station: source-separated Asphalt Shingles and Drywall for recycling - $110/ton
