New Rates for 2021

The ACSWMD Board of Supervisors adopted the 2021 Annual Budget, including the Rate Schedule for calendar year 2021 on November 19th, 2020. All new rates take effect on January 1, 2021. A full list of current rates can be found on our Rates & Fees page. 

The rate changes at the District Transfer Station in Middlebury are as follows:

  • Municipal Solid Waste & Construction/Demo Debris.....$130/ton

    • Minimum fee - 100 lbs or less.....$8/load

  • Appliances with CFCs (refrigerator's, freezers, window A/Cs, water fountains, vending machines, dehumidifiers).....$15/each
  • Books (hard and soft cover)
    • Residential.....$2/load
    • Business.....$10/load
  • Fire Extinguishers - any size.....$5/each
  • Food Scraps 
    • Residential - containers up to 5-gallons.....$1 each
    • Business - containers up to 5-gallons.....$1.25 each (no change from 2020)
    • Business - 32 gallon container.....$15 each
    • Business - 48 gallon container.....$20 each
  • Leaf & Yard Waste (grass clippings, leaves, small twigs) 
    • 3 cubic yards or less.....$2/load
    • Over 3 cubic yards.....$20/load
  • Propane Tanks
    • Residential - 1 lb.....No charge (no change from 2020)
    • Business - 1 lb.....$1 (no change from 2020)
    • Residential or business - 20 lb or larger.....$5 each
  • Recycling
    • Single stream recyclables from commercial haulers.....$125/ton
    • Single stream self-hauled from businesses - 1 cubic yard or less.....$10
    • Single stream self-hauled from businesses - greater than 1 cubic yard.....$125/ton 
  • Tires
    • Passenger tires.....$3 each
    • Large truck tires.....$9 each
    • Agricultural tires, Earthmoving tires, Oversized tires.....$0.10/lb
    • Large quantities of tires by weight.....$0.09/lb

Additionally, the following products sold at the District Transfer Station will rise in price:
