Full Time: Outreach Cordinator

Are you the outgoing, creative type? Do you have a passion for waste reduction and helping others reduce their impact on the environment? Then ACSWMD in Middlebury, VT wants you to join our passionate and dedicated team as a Public Outreach Coordinator! This community-facing position promotes the understanding and value of waste reduction and diversion programs, including recycling, organics management, household hazardous waste and source reduction. Responsibilities include: outreach to residents, businesses & institutions; maintenance of social media; development of educational campaign materials, classes and surveys; and frequent local travel to speak/ present at special events. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, with the ability to promote understanding within a wide range of audiences, age groups and perspectives. A Bachelor’s Degree is required, along with at least one year of experience in community outreach and program development. Experience in community relations, communications, as well as knowledge of environmental sustainability and waste management are preferred. Familiarity with website design, desktop publishing and presentation software, social media, and Microsoft Office are required. Strong planning and organizational skills are essential.

Work for this position is located in the field and/or virtually online, with the administrative work performed in the Middlebury office, Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.. Occasional nights and weekends for meetings, presentations or special events are required. This is a full-time, exempt position, with a competitive salary.
