Can carrier

This item is banned from disposal in the trash in Vermont by state law and must be recycled with blue-bin recycling.  

Disposal Options

Can carriers (4-pack lids) for beer, soda, cider, or other aluminum cans can be recycled in curbside or blue-bin recycling at either one's home, Town Drop-Off, or at the District's Residential Drop-Off. Any color other than black plastic HDPE #2 snap-on can carrier lids are accepted in blue-bin, single-stream recycling, not in the trash. Black plastic can carriers should be disposed of as household trash.

The fee associated with your town drop-off or curbside collection service applies for this item.

Recycling

  • Single Stream Recyclables from Commercial Haulers: $125 per ton
  • Single Stream self-hauled from Businesses, 1 cubic yard or less: $10 per load
  • Single Stream self-hauled from Businesses greater than 1 cubic yard: $125 per ton
