Some types of this item cannot go in the trash in District towns per District Ordinance.
Disposal Options
Furnaces, boilers, hot water heater, and other types of heating equipment are accepted for special recycling at the District Transfer Station. After processing, equipment that is at least 80% metal will be recycled as scrap metal (metal items larger than one cubic foot or greater than 25 pounds must be separated from the trash per District Ordinance).

Appliances without CFCs
- Furnace, washer, dryer, hot water heater, stove, dishwasher, microwave, woodstove, etc.: no charge
