Some types of this item cannot go in the trash in District towns per District Ordinance

Disposal Options

Lawn and snow equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws and snow blowers are accepted at the District Transfer Station for recycling as scrap metal (if the equipment is at least 80% metal) or for disposal as trash. Metal items larger than one cubic foot or greater than 25 pounds must be separated from the trash per District Ordinance. Drain all fluids, including oil or gasoline, and remove the battery before bringing the equipment to the District Transfer Station. Batteries and fluids are accepted separately at the District Transfer Station.
