The District Transfer Station in Middlebury accepts textiles such as used clothing and shoes for special recycling for free. Drop-off is free and open year-round to the public. Some acceptable items include: adult and children's clothing, footwear, and accessories. Items can be in any condition, as long as they are clean, dry, and odorless.
Please make sure items are in a closed plastic bag before placing them in the collection bin. This helps to keep our operation running efficiently and protects clothing from vectors and weather events. Pillows, blankets, comforters, scrap fabric, quilts, and stuffed animals are NOT ACCEPTED in this program.
